About me
Design-minded engineer,
type-safe by default.
Hi, I'm Bryce — a software engineer with a taste for design. I like software that stays out of the way: fast, focused, and finished.
I care about the unglamorous parts of building software: naming, types, and composable structure. Most of my effort goes into the ten percent of code that isn't the clever bit — because that ten percent is what makes the rest reliable.
My default stack is TypeScript from front to back, with Astro or Node on the server side and vanilla-friendly front ends that stay fast. I prototype in plain HTML and CSS before reaching for anything heavier, then ship early, in small pieces, with tests on the things that matter. I'm early in my career, so I treat every project as a chance to get sharper — and I'm not shy about showing work in progress.
When I'm not writing code I'm usually sketching interface ideas, reading about local-first software, or walking too slowly with a podcast playing.
